- What can you do to help in your community to promote the idea of economic resistance?
- Start by becoming aware of who is robbing you. For instance:
When Walmart builds a new store, they use tax increment financing. Know what that is? Walmart picks out the land for their store in whatever town, wherever, then they approach the city with the following deal:
We want to build a store which will increase trade and bolster the economy in your community. Since we are willing to do that, we want you to allow us to use tax increment financing. If you don't want to do that, we'll move to the next town down the road, and your residents will be buying from Walmart in the next town. Your town will lose all that revenue.
Tax increment financing means Walmart collects sales tax from it’s customers, but doesn't pay sales tax. Ever. This amounts to literally millions of dollars per store. In essence, the customers pay for the land, the building, etc., and after it's all paid for, Walmart keeps collecting sales tax. And keeps it. Furthermore...
Walmart sells the same stuff the small businesses in the town sells, but cheaper, or so their propaganda would have you believe. The small businesses collect and pay sales tax, but not as much as they would if Walmart wasn't there, stealing their customers. So, the small businesses take it in the shorts, the town takes it in the shorts, the customers still have to pay, and the only big time winners are the Waltons; already the richest family in the world, and getting richer every day, thanks to what is essentially a subsidy of millions of dollars to their already bursting bank account. I bet you didn't know that, eh? Ain't this a great country we live in?

- Google IMPEACH CHENEY & BUSH. Then find a petition to sign.
Get active as much as you can. Be vocal!
Contact your congress people; let them know how you feel, what you think.
Vote for Dennis Kucinich.
If you can afford to send even ten dollars to a progressive cause, send it.
Don't give up!

If anybody knocks on your door and says "We're from the government and we're here to help you" tell them you have to go to the bathroom. Then climb out your bathroom window and run away as fast as you can. Don't even take you coat, just run.
