51 y.o. woman with adult son. Am surviving off SSDI because of spine disease. I live alone, and spend as few dollars as possible. Last Feb I phoned congress and directed them to your site. I was an LPN for several years, then studied case mngmnt. and worked with the mentally ill for several more years. I enjoy reading about politics, dogs, and going to the Seattle Center on week-ends. I was married a short time in my twenties, and have been single since. I now reside in low income housing, and have been here for 6 years. I enjoy physical activity; it's fun and good for my back, as well as good excercise. I walk to the nearby park daily, and will be replacing my stolen bike next month. I have over 200 CD's and use music to bring up my spirits. I'm bi-polar, but not crazy, just ceative sometimes. I come from a family of 8, one sis deceased as well as both parents. Most days I'm happy.
What can you do to help in your community to promote the idea of economic resistance?
I speak up to folks here in the neighborhood, on the bus, and anytime I can get someone to listen. People have been interested, and like to talk about their circumstances.
What online or real world resources would you recommend?
I watch Amy Goodman, subsribe to Nation magazine, and listen to Air America/Jones network radio. I enjoy listening to Lawanddisorder.com online. I am a member of Amnesty Int'l, and the ACLU.
How many people can you persoanlly spread the word to?
lots when I'm out, because I'm not shy
